Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit All Bulb Sizes and Colors with Premium Ballasts – 9005 HB3 – 4300k Price and Description:
HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of conventional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an roughly 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that’s offered by a ballast which is connected straight to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to offer greater light output with less power intake. Studies demonstrate that a 35 watt HID lamp produces three times as much light in comparison to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a uninterrupted power draw of 10 15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere three amps throughout operation (that is up to 80 less power throughout use!). Also to high output and low power handling, the HID headlight gives longer service life. With no filament to shake and exhaustion, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last about ten times longer than halogen bulbs. What is the HID Color Temperature? Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a feature of light that’s on occasion misunderstood as light, when it is more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light’s temperature, this can be a bit misleading. The term color temperature really mentions the color that’s related with the total of heat required to produce a color in from an ideal black body. Here is a rough guide to Color Temperatures for our HID bulbs. It’s hard to describe HID colors precisely because different people tend to perceive colors somewhat differently. 3000k= Yellow, 4300k= Bright White with a hint of yellow, 6000k= Pure white light (some people detect a slight blue), 8000k= White light with a blue tinge, 10000k= Light blue, 12000k= Deeper Blue, 30000k= Violet/Purple.

It was a simple install procedure, with only some minor issues one faces when custom mounting anything not intended to be OEM. I found the spots required to mount the ballasts and the rest fell into place. Information and questions/troubleshooting sheet were excellent. Nothing looks or feels cheap or skimped on. Now after about ten days of use, satisfaction continues.

Update Just wanted to add that I had an issue with one of the lights blinking continuously. I contacted the company and they sent out a new ballast now solving the issue.

This is my second buy of a Kensun HID Conversion kit. I had a great experience with the 1st kit for a 2001 Nissan Sentra, I decided to get another Kensun kit to upgrade a ’95 Dodge Ram Van. Second kit configuration is 9004 Bi Xenon 6000k. The light quality is amazing! but, I can not really rate the performance/durability of this kit still as it’s brand new and I have not driven with them long enough. I could rated this a 5 Star, but doing a comparison with the 1st kit (9007 HID Bi Xenon 6000k), I am quite disappointed at the quality of the wiring harnesses. The wires seem flimsy and thin. The Control Unit, bottom half where the wiring harness is connected in, is covered with a thin rubber casing that feels loose and does little for weather protection like water. The 1st kit did cost $20 more and the wires were tough, better insulated, stronger gauge, and better sealed Control Unit. Honestly, I like quality and would not mind the extra cost for better wires, if it was an available choice.

Headlights with the Kensun conversion kit. I have a Tundra, and I have been running 100W halogen lights to get better visibility at night. The 100W halogens ended up baking my sockets and the wiring to my headlights. Since I goed to have to work on it nevertheless I decided to get many H.I.D. Bulbs.

The kit was easy to install, not much in the way of directions but really it was adequate. They’re dead easy to install, I may have done it in 15 minutes or if it were not for a couple of things that are particular to my Tundra. The truck came with shields for the stock bulbs, and these light ran into them. They were some a annoyance to get out, since the headlight assembly is totally glued tight and they’re a little bigger than the hole for the bulb to go through. I also had to use up some minutes figuring out how to put the stock rubber boot on over these bulbs. The bulbs had a turn lock bayonet style mount to lock the bulb to the big part in back for the high beam, and I had to work the boot on but it is all good now.

The lights did not work at 1st, and I spent some minutes figuring out what was wrong. The directions said to reverse the polarity, but it may have been more clear if they had said to reverse the polarity where the harness plugs into the ballast. The ballast are marked “+” and ” ” right on the plug housing. But I put a volt meter on the harness and there was no power coming out of it. Then I ran jumpers to the ballasts directly, and both lights lit up. It turned out that the relay assembly (What they call a “Control Box” in the directions) wasn’t working at all. I called the number at their website, .. I left a message since they’re closed on Friday and Saturday.

They called back and got my order number and said they’d ship me a substitute. I told them I could need the wiring harness too, since I required to have headlights in my truck and I cut the harness to wire in a Bosch relay so I could have low beams at least. They said no problem.

A couple of days afterward the new harness/relay arrived, and I swapped it out. Honestly, though, I do not know if I really needed the HID high beams. (Several reviewers said to make sure you ordered the bi xenon kit with HID low and high beams.) These lights are so bright on low beam it borders on ridiculous! They appear like they put out more than three times the light of the 100W halogen bulbs. If I bend over and look right into the headlights from 20 feet in front of the truck I’m temporarily blind for 20 or 30 seconds. These things are freaking bright!

When you flip the high beams, it is instant. I wondered if there may be a slight delay, because they really actuate a solenoid kind of assembly in the back of the bulb to reposition the bulb. No delay at all. And on high beam my truck lights up the street all the way down until the end of the block. I will most likely not use the high beams much, but when I am driving up in the mountains at night, it’ll be really, really nice to have these things.

When they fire up, you may be able to hear a slight buzzing from the ballasts when you’re standing beside the truck with the hood up and the engine not running, but there’s totally no electrical sound. I have the Toyota high end stereo for the truck, and also a satellite XM radio, and an Ipod connector. No interference at all with the stereo system.

I am planning on replacing the headlights in two more cars with the. I do not know how I went so long without putting in the HID bulbs, but now I’m a big fan! I just have to do it when my wife isn’t around, so I do not get yelled at. : ) (She has great night vision, and she does not see why I wanted lighter headlights. )

These seat covers are well made, a dealership employee said so. The material feels strong and lasting, the stitching also appears lasting.

The center colored sections are two layers of fabric with varying sized stitching, intended to let the seats to “breath” and also whisk away moisture from the people sitting on them.

They’re “not too slick” but not too hard to scoot across either.

The front covers are intended to work on newer vehicles with airbags that deploy from inside the seat, a lightly stitched opening intended to break separately when those airbags deploy.

The rear seat cover has three zippers in the center area, all three may be totally separated on both the back and seat sections of the cover. One is right down the center, the other two are equal distances from the center, and pretty dang close to where our Corolla’s 60/40 split is.

These can only work with car seats that have removable head rests for both the front and back seats (5 headrest covers included). I was able to install mine to look decent by messing with every one for a little while, my covers were installed in a 2010 Toyota Corolla SE.

For seat cover installations, you’ll have to take off the headrests 1st, and you’ll probably have to make four or six cuts through the rear seat covers to let the headrest posts to poke through. Rear seat belt buckles may require a cut to fit properly also. Just attempt to make these cuts no bigger than required to push the posts or buckles through.

In the ’10 Corolla, with eight snips (6 headrest posts, two belt buckles), it fits nicely, though the darker gray is not the best match for the light gray interior. Our rear window seat headrests do not line with the colored part of the covers, but take the time to get it focused and to get creative with securing the rear upper seat cover, it still looks great when it is done.

So I am really pleased with my buy, these covers exceeded my expectations!

INSTALLATION TIPS:

When installing the front seat covers, be sure the tags and mods for the seat air bags are installed on the side of the seat your maker says that airbag could deploy on your car.

Front seat covers may need a little “tucking” under plastic parts at the seats base to fit and look the best. As well, for the top of the front seat covers, there is a velcro opening that may be adjusted around the headrest posts.

Back seat is two pieces, the upper only has the mesh fabric on the sides, be sure goes down. The lower part has the mesh fabric on three sides, the side without the mesh get’s tucked into the corner with the bottom of the upper seat cover.

On the ’10 Corolla, I found that the center of the bottom of the headrests were not exactly sewn shut, appears intentional, and is the ideal place to tuck the extra fabric of the headrest cover up into, more improving it is fit.

There are a bunch of hooks in a baggie inside the packaging to use with the elastic loops on the seat covers, I can not help here, and prepare yourself for many twisting and turning during installation for best fit, and again, it is still worth it.

My major complaint is having to cut into the fabric, I hesitated before making the 1st cut. Take your time, get the alignment perfect before making that 1st cut. The fabric does not seem to unravel too much, and the headrests themselves hide the new slits, so I feel confident that there will not be tearing over time because of it.

Other than that, the only other negative is how much time it takes to get these seat covers installed perfectly, and I strongly recommend you taking your time. Be sure the seats are clean like you are removing crime scene evidence clean previous to installing the seat covers to be sure your seats will not get damaged because of trapped dirt and debris, and get the longest life out of the covers.

CONCLUSION

If you are looking for a high quality, full set seat covers set that does not cost three digits like the custom fit covers do, this set may just be for you. I’m greatly pleased and will certainly think about this item/brand at some point. Hope you are reading this throughout a sale. :)

I had a hard time finding a complete set that had the front covers airbag prepared, without spending a fortune. It fit my 2010 Chevy Silverado Crew well, I was a little unsure at 1st. It comes with zipper pieces to split the rear seat so you may be able to still flip up one side or the other. For what you get, and the easy installation, its a steal!! I used zip ties to secure the bottom rear seat cover elastic straps to each other. Without removing the top back rear seat, I could not secure the top rear seat cover. I just tucked it around, works good. The only problem I had was my front seat headrests can not be removed. So I had to cut/tear a little material to get the front seat covers over both. Not a real big issue. Not obvious. Sure beats paying $250 for the front, and another $250 for the rear. So the’re not waterproof, better than nothing.

I tapped the horn and the sound surely excited the driver. He quickly veered away and once he sorted himself out, he came to realize it was my Hella Horn. I looked into my rearview mirror as he expressed his admiration of the product by using the longest finger on his right hand held up high, as if saying, “It’s Number One!”. I reciprocated agreement with the same gesture of lifting my third digit to him, too, and mouthed to him, “It’s FUN, Dude!”, with special stress on the FUN. I drove along my merry way, working around slower traffic but the moment I settled behind a car, the white SUV driver came along screaming up my side again to express his enthusiasm once more with a, “It’s Number One!” gensture, now with his left hand out the driver’s window, to be sure I saw it. I responded by leaning forward towards the dash, as on occasion I think the tinted windows may obscured my initial answer, and I mouthed over to him once more a hearty, “FUN, DUDE!” Oh yes, good times, good times. Excellent buy.

I just put in a new touchscreen HU in the car and wanted a simple upgrade to the alarm system. These horns easily accomplished that. The other night at the grocery store I tested it by hitting the panic button and watching at least a few of people look at my car versus just ignoring it like majority of people do to most cars. I have been very tempted to beep at people all over the place but I have to remind myself that this horn is scary deafening. So far I only had to beep at an old man who comed over in my lane as I passed him, needless to say he got back in his lane with the quickness.

Information included did not help much. I had to go online and search different forums for my car setup. Then it was all about planning and doing. Construction is A+, Sound/tone is a B, and volume is an A. Sturday rugged construction, Needs a deeper tone to out the highs, and the volume was attention to get. I wish they’d included a harness. Had to make my own.

I do not have any complaints about these chains, and I’m one to easily complaint about product faults. Easy to install, though the 1st part of the rachet system takes a second to comprehend. They seem to fit my tires very well (185/65 14), snugger than other chains I have tried. They are super compact about the size of three dinner plantes stacked together. Italian made. These also meet “S” low profile standards; I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX. Happy.

I put these on my minivan (2003 Honda Odyssey) and drove on mixed surfaces (snow covered, icy, slushy & pavement) in Yosemite National Park. I have tried some number of types of snow chains previous to these straight cables, Z cables, GoClaws I found this pair to the most lasting. The other types/brands tended to give out when driven on pavement, or they rusted out after a couple of uses.

These chains were also the simplest to install, thanks to the stiffened inner ring that you just push behind the wheel you do not have to hug the wet, muddy tire to reach around to look for the other end of the chain because all the linkages are intended to connect on the outer side of the wheel, and you may be able to install the chains without moving the car. The uninstallation information say you have to stop and align the wheel perfectly, but this does not generally work because I’d typically have a part of the chain pinched under the wheel. I found it easier to just unbuckle the linkages and drive over the chains to get them off fast. Key linkages are painted in bright colors, so they are easy to find. There’s also a tensioning system to keep the chains from flopping around too much. The unconventional locking/tightening system is easy enough, but I’d certainly recommend that you attempt it at home before you head for the hills.

I bought size 102 as indicated by the fitment guide (225/60 16) while the chains fit around the tread nicely, I had hard time pulling on the tension arm of the chain to hook it to the chosen spot on the chain (you’ll have to see the information to see what I mean). I just ended up hooking the tension arm elsewhere on the chain, and compensated with a bungee cord.

In my opinion, these drive somewhat more smoothly than the Z cable chains.

I’m happy with the chains. They store nicely in a compact case also. Good stuff.

I have had other fast install chains before, but they are by far the best quality and simplest set that I have had to put on before. They fit true to size for my 16 inch tires on my Toyota Camry. These seem to self center well, and tighten up more as you drive with them on.

The 1st time i put them on, I got out of my car a half mile down the road to check on the fit. They had snugged up tighter and I was good to go. They have a quick release system that quickly gets them off the wheel.

Freak rare snowstorm in Seattle, and everyone is instantly sold out of chains locally. Thank goodness for and Prime account to get me a set overnight!

Here is what you have to know about chains and traction control devices, and why I like the ones made by SCC. I also include many installation hints at the bottom of this review.

There are two broad types of traction control devices: Tire chains and traction control cables. Tire chains are real chain links. Traction control cables are long pieces of metal cables, covered in a plastic covering, and intended to form a Z pattern over your tires. The plastic covering is then enclosed by hundreds of tiny, round, metal springs. Cables are usually regarded as better because they’re easier to install, last longer, are less damaging to roads, and work better with vehicles equipped with ABS. As well, as indicated by SCC, you may be able to carefully drive with cable devices up to 30 mph, on roads with no snow, without damaging them.

You should usually install traction control cables on your drive wheels, i.E. The wheels that really push or pull your car forward. If the snow is really bad, though, you may have to install cables on all four wheels. Read your vehicle’s owner’s manual for more details on where to install your cables.

In any way, it is a really, really smart idea to have TWO sets of cables in your car at all times. That way, if something breaks (murphy’s law), you will not be stuck.

Within the traction control cable group, there are two general types of cables: Self tensioning cables tighten themselves using a tensioner (which looks, feels, and operates like a rubber band) that you install when you put the cables on. Manual tensioning cables are tightened by you, and must be re tightened after you drive for a couple hundred feet or so. I have heard that emergency vehicles tend to use the manually adjustable models because they’re allegedly safer at speeds above 30 MPH, but driving above 30 MPH for any non emergency staff is illegal with any kind of traction control device.

There are some number of benefits to the manually adjustable models. They tend to have more slack, which can make installation easier. As well, the tensioners (i.E. Rubber bands) on self adjusting cables can and do break (it happened to me today) and if they break, you can not use the cables. If you get a cable that has a tensioner, get extra tensioners, or better still, another set of cables, just in case.

Here’s a breakdown of SCC’s cable products:

Z Chain Manually adjustable Traction Control Cable. Easy to install, but must be retightened shortly after you start driving. Easy to install because they come with lots of slack. Frequently used by police and fire staff.

Shur Grip Z/Super Z LT Self adjusting cable. Tensioners can break so purchase extras. Less slack, so may be harder to put on the car, but usually easier than Z chains because you do not have to manually tighten and re tighten them.

Super Z6/Z8 Newest Self adjusting cable, intended for vehicles with little sidewall clearance. They have all the benefits and disadvantages of the Shur Grip Z. Also, but, the connectors are a little harder to work with on this model because of their low profile.

The Z6 and Z8 models are SCC’s new models. They’re intended to manage smaller clearances between the side of the tire and the car than their older models. Consequently of that design, they’re hand crimped throughout the manufacturing procedure (instead of machine crimped), and that results in a somewhat higher MSRP. SCC’s agent tells me that the cable size and metal springs are the same size as their other cable based merchandise, and so the only reason to not to get the Z6′s over the older models (Super Z’s) is that the Z6′s are somewhat costly (usually only some dollars). I have noticed that the Z6 connectors are a little harder to work with than the Shur Grip/Super Z LT model.

On all of these models, the metal rings are made of a spring like material, SCC says that you do not have to take off the chains once you reach a paved road. Rather, as long as you drive under 30 MPH, SCC says that you may drive with the traction control cables on your car, as you switch between plowed and non plowed roads. Because each of the hundreds of little springs are separate pieces, when one breaks, it just falls off, and the others work to fill in the void.

The Z6/Z8 models also come with a nice cloth bag that’s sized properly to hold the cables. The older cable based SCC models come with plastic containers that are too small to easily lay the cables in.

Installing the cables is comparatively easy, and I am certainly not a hands on kind of man. It took me about 15 minutes the 1st time, and now that I have done it some number of times, I can get it done in under a minute per wheel. SCC has a video on their web site that explains how to do it. You may want to generally do a test installation of cables before you need them to be sure that you bought the correct size and know how to install it. It is also useful to have many waterproof gloves useful and a towel with you, as it’s frequently wet and cold when you have to install chains. A good choice for gloves are the long wristed rubber gloves that you may purchase at the grocery store for washing dishes, or many disposal latex gloves. After you use the cables for the 1st time, fold each cable individually , then use a trash bag tie to keep every one together. Otherwise, the next time you need them, they will all be tangled together.

Here are many hints on how to install these chains.

1. Read the information from the maker and pay close attention to the safety information. The basics of the information are (1) stay safe, (2) position the cables properly, (3) connect the upper rear connector, (4) connect the upper front connector, (5) connect the lower front connector, and (6) connect the black rubber bands.

The information are quite good, but they leave out some useful hints, which I’ll now share with you.

BEFORE YOU START, be sure YOU HAVE THE CORRECT SIDE UP! There are markings all over the cables which point to the correct orientation. Look for them!

2. Put on many rubber dishwashing gloves and lay a towel down wherever you are going to work, or you’ll get , dirty.

3. When you slide the cables under your tires, start from a point between your front and rear tires. Slide half of the chain under your car, , then reach around from the other side of the tire to pull the cable around. Though the information describe a swinging slide motion, I have never seen anybody who could do that without twisting the cables up. Just pull them and things will be much easier.

4. Once the cables are around the tire, don’t pull the bottom connectors that hold the cables together at the bottom of the tire towards one another. Keep them as far separately as possible. If you pull them in tight, you will not be able to pull the chain high enough in the back to connect the rear upper connector, which is what you’re supposed to do 1st.

5. When you’re connecting the rear upper connector, if you can not get the rear upper connectors up above the tire so that you may see them, push the part of the cables that surround the bottom of your tire backwards and under your car some inches. This will create slack behind the cables and let you to pull the cables up in the back.

6. Once you have the rear upper connector connected, hooking up the front upper connector can be hard. Attempt pushing the rear upper connector back so that it’s laying against the inside sidewall of your tire , then pull the front upper connectors towards you as hard as you may be able to. Do not attempt to pull them towards each other. While sitting, just pull them straight out, towards you, and the rest of the chains should fall into place. Then they should be easy to connect.

7. Gently pull the parts of the chain that criss cross your tires down towards the ground so that they are not all bunched up at the top. Look at the chain and be sure that the parts you may be able to see, and particularly the blue cable, is evenly circulated around the tire.

8. Then pull the bottom front connectors towards you (out, but not up or down) to create slack. Then connect them. Again, do not attempt to pull them towards one another as that makes it nearly impossible to create slack.

9. On these specific cables, the upper front connector is BLACK and the bottom front connector is SILVER. When you are prepared to take the cables off, if you get the wheel lined up so that the BLACK connector is on the top, it’ll be much easier to find and remove the rear connector (which will be reverse the black connector).

Easy to put on and off. You do not have to move the car to put them on. I have a Toyota Prius and they are much better than what the dealer sold me, for not more money. You get what you pay for. For me, the extra cost is worth it because they are heavy responsibility cables for low tire clearance cars and the easy putting them on is vital, particularly if you’re out in the snow, in a storm or such. You won’t regret purchasing these cables. I returned the unused “dealer cables” back to the Toyota dealer and felt like saying to them “for shame”.(they were so chinsey).But I was nice and did not do that. I just told them the truth.That these cables were far superior. Thankx!

Record snow storm in So Cal mountains obliged cables and i never lost traction and only took about three minutes each wheel to install. Once your experienced let two min/per wheel. The split design that lets you to install them without driving onto them is perfect. Elimination only takes about 1 2 min/per wheel. I ended up having to drive on them for three miles on bare roads without any problems or signs of wear. I also was able to plow through two feet of filled snow in a Honda minivan. Update for rims that bulge out in the center, the tighteners may rub on it leaving a mark. It just depends on your wheel style.

Every time I want to fire up my old 71 Datsun (that’s Nissan for those of you younger than 30) 240 Z there is a good chance that the battery drained down and that I can not start it! Looking around at car forums I read about this nifty little gadget..It’s like a battery trickle charger..sort of. Whereas it is not suggested to keep a trickle charger hooked up all the time, this one has circuitry to bound the current and sense when the battery needs charging. It only charges at 1.25 amps which is simpler on the battery.

I’ve had it on for a month now and it is great. The 1st couple of days, the red light was on showing charging. Since then it is been on green and the car starts right up. I live in Houston where the heat and humidity may be just as brutal on batteries as the cold.

I greatly recommend this “tender” for those that have cars that stay unused for long periods.

As other reviews mentioned it comes with a set of adapters that let you to permanently attach pigtails to the battery posts , then you may be able to quickly connect the tender without having to use the alligator clips (also included).

For the price and free shipping you can not go wrong!

UPDATE after two years of use.
I can now reconfirm that these battery tenders work great I have had them hooked up continuously on two cars that stay in the garage many and I have NEVER had them not start right up. A fast glance at the LED display lets me know that the batteries are either charging or completely charged. It is a real pleasure to be able to go right up and enjoy your wheels without having to worry about if the battery is dead. I can not say for sure, but I suspect that it lengthens the life of the battery also.

I have a four year old Accord that, caused by situation, only has about 4400 miles. Rarely driven.And what driving is done is usually at night.

Sat for a week once in cold weather.Dead battery.

Ordered this. Hooked it up. 100 charge and the battery is powerful again.( had thought I could most likely need a new one).

It’s small size makes it very easy to use and store. And it’ll not overcharge, so you don’t have to babysit the procedure.

It’s LEDs glow red when charging. Green and red blink once 80 was achieved. Hard green at 100.

It did, in cold weather, take a long time to set up a full charge on my nearly totally discharged battery. The battery could have been usable in some hours, but 100 took close to 18.

Highly suggested.

I used it to preserve my garaged Mustang’s battery over the winter months for many years. I made a cigarette lighter adapter so all I required to do was to plug it in instead of using the alligator clips. I have to say this thing is dead reliable! It generally kept my battery in prime condition. I love it and recommend it greatly.

Been on for two months and still beads like the 1st day. Used the All in One for the wife’s 2006 Dodge Durango, this product removed all the old swirl marks and made it appear like new again. Impressed with both merchandise. And if the direction tell apply and very thin coat, they mean it or it’ll be hard to come off.

1. Hand washed and dried car.
2. Used Mother’s clay bar system (for the 1st time ever, also a great product)
3. Applied the All in One product. It really goes on easy, and removes easily.
4. Applied the Sealant glaze. Easy on, easy off.

Tips: Follow directions, and do not use too most of either product, more isn’t better. If you use too much product, it’s more hard to take off. As well, be sure the product dries to a haze before buffing the product off using a microfiber cloth.

The results: Paint is extremly smooth, excellent gloss (better than off the showroom floor). Also bugs are easy to take off when washing the car.

Best merchandise I have used in 28 years, and I am a perfectionist.

Kensun HID Xenon Replacement Bulbs All Sizes and Colors – D1 – 5000k Price and Description:
HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of conventional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an roughly 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that’s offered by a ballast which is connected straight to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to offer greater light output with less power intake. Studies demonstrate that a 35 watt HID lamp produces three times as much light in comparison to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a uninterrupted power draw of 10 15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere three amps throughout operation (that is up to 80 less power throughout use!). Also to high output and low power handling, the HID headlight gives longer service life. With no filament to shake and exhaustion, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last about ten times longer than halogen bulbs. What is the HID Color Temperature? Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a feature of light that’s on occasion misunderstood as light, when it is more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light’s temperature, this can be a bit misleading. The term color temperature really mentions the color that’s related with the total of heat required to produce a color in from an ideal black body. Here is a rough guide to Color Temperatures for our HID bulbs. It’s hard to describe HID colors precisely because different people tend to perceive colors somewhat differently. 3000k= Yellow, 4300k= Bright White with a hint of yellow, 6000k= Pure white light (some people detect a slight blue), 8000k= White light with a blue tinge, 10000k= Light blue, 12000k= Deeper Blue, 30000k= Violet/Purple.

Here it’s, springtime, and there are many issues but I like these.

It will take you more than 20 minutes unless you are rehearsed in diving under the hood of your car to switch out bulbs and wire a harness kit. Took me about 40 minutes, but that is after I had been switching between colored bulbs and OEM’s. The kit installed well. I do not like to drill so I used screw that have already been installed in my Honda Fit. The color looks great; light throw looks better; people pay attention to drivers using HID lights (you generally keep your eyes on the bluer lights) and the high beams only switch the angle of output (and do not really get brighter). I have some a problem with the wiring harness that looks to be a little loose. Certain bumps, the lights flicker. That’s what happens with after market merchandise on occasion. Yes, it may be a hazard and I have to get under the hood and make certain that the connections are all tight. I like that the bulbs have a metal mounting plate instead of plastic. WATCH for the plastic base of any bulb; between the heat and the pressure of springs holding bulbs, the plastic WILL weaken and sooner or later fail, which happened to me. Star deduction for the wiring harness issue. Otherwise they are working good. I did purchase another kit (have still to install) for the fog lamps, and the lamps are 3000 kelvin (orange). Do not go higher than daylight (5600 or 6000K) because the higher or lower you go, your light output will diminish. I bought a pair of 8000K lamps that are in, but I do want to get back to the 6000K bulb, because I did see a slight light dropoff from the old kit I had with the 6000K’s. It had to be replaced since the plastic base failed.

Royal Purple gave me better gas mileage by 1.6 MPG. I used a performance K&N Oil Filter (Wrench on) and the royal purple. It is amazing. I believe 100 in this product.
